This is the January 2026 ranking used for our July 22 puzzle. Inside Out 2 leads that archived answer list. Film release years below help distinguish sequels; the ranking itself is based on worldwide theatrical box office.

The cutoff is January 2026, even though the puzzle ran in July. Later releases and later box-office revisions do not change the saved answers. Release years are context, not the sorting metric.
What does worldwide box office measure?
The puzzle compares cinema ticket revenue across theatrical markets. It excludes streaming views, merchandise sales and audience ratings. A domestic-only list or a list adjusted for ticket-price inflation uses a different basis and may put the films in a different order.
Which films qualify for this Pixar quiz?
The list is limited to Pixar-produced feature films. Disney distributes films from several studios, so a Disney release is not automatically a Pixar film. Pixar’s own feature-film catalogue is a useful check when you are deciding whether a title belongs in the candidate pool.
Why do older box-office articles show different numbers?
Revenue totals accumulate during a theatrical run. For example, Disney reported Inside Out 2 at $1.46 billion worldwide on July 24, 2024. That was a dated milestone during release, not its final lifetime total. Always compare the same geographic scope and cutoff when checking a ranking.
